CVD Eighth In Grandview Traffic Jam
BECHTELSVILLE, PA - Overcoming adversity, Craig Von Dohren broke free from Wednesday night's 100-lap Advance Auto Parts Super DIRTcar Series 'Traffic Jam' event at Grandview Speedway with a respectable eighth-place finish.

The night didn't start out well for CVD, blowing a hole in an oil line during hot laps. Running time trials and a heat race with the car's powerplant not running at full song, Von Dohren timed a dismal 33rd fastest and squeaked out a fifth-place heat race.

"It was breaking up and missing," he said. "We got behind the eight-ball."

Rolling off the grid 17th, CVD raced to a respectable eighth-place finish despite damage on the Millville Glass No. 1c.

"I got together with (Ryan) Godown," explained Von Dohren. "It bent the (right-side) rear tube. That's about the time we stopped going forward.

"We were fairly decent until then."

Von Dohren's run was worth $1,300 - $1,000 in purse money and a $300 bonus from Chad Sinon's BPG Racing.

The next big-block start for CVD is Bridgeport (N.J.) Speedway's MS Race For A Cure on Wed., July 23.
